In Punjab, India, poor storage of wheat resulted in massive food losses in 2011. To address this problem, the state commissioned the use of Cocoons™ to protect that year’s bumper harvest of wheat. The Cocoons proved to be an inexpensive and cost-efficient solution that could be integrated into Punjab’s post-harvest programs. Positive trial results came back in 2015 stating that the stored wheat looked good without infestation.
